Meet Me Monday: Amanda Julia Tuominen

Introduce yourself briefly + Three facts about you

Hello everyone! I am Amanda Tuominen, a second year student at Estonian Business School, studying at Helsinki campus. I am 22 years old and moved to Helsinki from my hometown Turku half a year ago to be able to build my entire life here in Helsinki.

Why did you choose EBS Helsinki for your studies?

I chose EBS Helsinki for my studies as I wanted to study international business in english and improve my employment possibilities for working abroad. I was also encouraged by my family to walk my own path and invest in my future!

Where is your favorite place in the world?

I love exploring the world and I feel at home wherever I am as long as I am with people that I love. However, boating in the Finnish Archipelago is where I long to be during summer, while at winter nothing beats the winter wonderland of Finnish Lapland.

What are your hobbies?

At my freetime I enjoy going on adventures in the nature, listening to podcasts, playing with my puppy Boston, and challenging myself with workouts.

What should an entrepreneurial person be like?

An entrepreneurial person should be ready to take initiative when others are not, willing to seek for solutions rather than problems, and be bold when facing scary tasks or issues in life.

What is your greatest adventure?:

When I was in highschool I went on student exchange in Australia for a year. There I learned about other cultures, how to take care of myself, and how to surf of course! I also noticed how big the world is with all the possibilities! If there is something you want to do somewhere around the world, you should go do it.

Quote that you live by?

”When something scares you, just face it, and it will set you free” – me
