Maria in Spain-tapas and marketing!

Leaving Madrid almost feels like leaving home.

Luckily, during the past month I’ve managed to discover more of Spain and travel outside Madrid. I’ve been to Granada, Malaga, Segovia and this article is being written from a breakfast cafe in Mallorca (the intention was to eat pasta at 10am but it seems the Spanish kitchens do not have this option so the waitress just laughed at us). You definitely can’t judge Spain based on just the few places, especially on Madrid. I’d really like to visit the North of Spain and then maybe I’ll become wiser.

As a meat-lover, I enjoyed going to Segovia a lot. The following is not meant for vegans. Cuchinillo is a plateful of pork. They cut the small pig in front of the client to show the tenderness of the meat. 26€ = a good value for money and it tasted just as if my grandma had made it.

I can’t really compare Granada and Malaga to each other. The architecture and mountain views are wonderful in Granada. Then again, Malaga amazed me with its beaches that I hadn’t seen in a long time.

I’ve spent a lot of time at school, a little less on learning and a much more with my friends as well. The visit to Malaga and Granada was spent with my wonderful friends from all over Europe. It’s funny how people with such different lives meet up in one city and can have so much fun together.

Looking back on October, I do feel that I could’ve whined a little less about the sweating and the warm weather. 11 degrees in Madrid is the same as wintertime in Estonia. I’m not complaining about sunshine in November but I wasn’t expecting it to be so cold already. I’m going to Lisbon next week so I’ll get to enjoy Portugal as well cause why not if I’m already in this region.

Hasta luego chicos!

Till next time!

Maria
