Editorial: The beginning story of The Ebster

Last Thursday, on the 10th of December, we had an opening event for the school’s newsletter The Ebster. The last issue was published in 2012 and in paper form. For the first time in the Estonian Business School’s history we have published a web-based newsletter. The reason why we started it online was the wish to publish the stories with pictures or video material. Still, the greatest advantage is that we don’t have to wait to collect a bunch of articles. We can post the articles instantly when they are up to date and ready.

Indeed, our newsletter is really young and we are currently developing the site and since we have such a small collective, some of the things might delay. At the moment we are creating the firm structure so in the future the newsletter can be sustainable and every time when someone takes the lead they wouldn’t have to start all over again but they could continue where it stopped.

A school newsletter is important and necessary. I have frequently recognized it when the marketing side remains a weakness when student council is organizing the events. Our own media source could help a lot with promotions. Also, there are so many talented and successful students in our school whom others may not know about. Therefore one of our goals is to make everyone that is unseen visible.
