This year’s Halloween party took place in a new mysterious venue called the U3 concert club. What made it special were the people dressed to their nines following the theme Horror Comics and also the DJs who played tunes that everyone just had to make their way to the dance floor. Entering the club, you could feel right away that it’s going to be an awesome Halloween party because everything was well organised and the decorations were eye-catching. All the guests could participate in playing beer bong and there was also a bar. Among all that, cool pictures were taken with the most intricate costumes.
I asked some questions from one of the organiser Kärolin Neering.
1. What was the goal of the Halloween party?
The goal was to bring all the different courses together so that everyone could meet and get to know each other while partying in a way that was different from normal. Since it was the Halloween week and the tradition has already been established, this year’s Halloween party was a must.
2. What kept the mood up?
You could play beer pong that united a lot of competitive people. In addition, we had amazing DJs – to be exact, four of them: Whogaux, Nix & Jonny and Racebus. Definitely, the handmade and bought decorations that decorated the whole venue helped to set the mood.
3. How did you find a venue such as the U3 Concert club? Why that one?
Since a place called Sinilind had just closed its doors, we found U3 where there hadn’t been any parties yet. So, we got the opportunity to organize our party at such an interesting and new place. We got the permission to decorate the club and the venue staff was very helpful.
4. How did you come up with the Horror Comics theme?
In the beginning, we had a lot of choices such as horror movies and tv shows and it took some time to make a decision but eventually we decided on Horror Comics. Everyone had really awesome costumes and there wasn’t anyone who was wearing totally normal clothes.
5. What were the people like?
There were both Estonians and international students but getting the Finnish to attend is quite difficult. Then again, there were people outside our school and someone was even celebrating their birthday!
6. What could’ve gone better?
We could’ve released the event a bit sooner and there were a lot of Halloween parties at the same time, so we had less people from other schools attending. In addition, the weather was horrible but that’s unfortunately not up to us.
