I am 2nd course student Brigitta Perlmann and I wanted to share my journey from an idea to the realization of an actual business. This summer, two of my friends brought up an idea, which seemed really far future at first but now we can proudly say that we have come far from that.
In everything we do, our purpose stands in encouraging people to follow their path and create more along the way (stories, ideas, projects…), while protecting their eyes and well-being with style.
We all spend enormous time in front of our smartphones, computers and TV. Our products have been tested by our customers who all have given us really great feedback on how their eyes feel better (less irritated) in front of the screens. They feel more rested, stress free and most noticable change that has occured is the ability to shut off and go to sleep while being in front of digital devices at night. They are not only standing for their use of function alone, but also for their style. People have started to wear them also because they like the way they make them feel about their appearance.
We have designed stylish 0-power lense screen protector glasses. Their main purpose is to protect humans’ eyes from blue light waves that are harmful to our eyes and well-being while being in fron of digital screens for a long period of time. At the moment we have designed 5 different pairs of glasses that fit most people, starting from the fashion industry and all the way to everyday office person.
Our idea started when we faced the problem of feeling tired and uncomfortable after long working hours in front of computers. Then we started noticing the blue light filtering covers on regular prescription glasses and though that what if there’s a solution to prevent people from having glasses. We started looking for the right manufacturer who could fill our wishes. In time, we found the right factory that shared the same vision about having the functionality with encouraging style. We decided to have 5 different styles to start out: three more related to fashion, one classical and one dedicated to the office employees. Also, we wanted to have our brand and its name related to our vision and what we believe in – somebody who would be an example for people. Salvino D’Armati is an italian visionary who is the first person to design a concept of prescriptional glasses. That’s how we knew that we have found a name for our brand “D’ARMATI”. Furthermore, all of our designed glasses come with a name and a story, that is inspired from the world changing italian inventors: Enzo, Jacuzzi, Cristofori and Caselli. From ever since, we have been working on perfecting our brand’s beliefs, getting to the right people and developing a plan of action.
