1. Introduce yourself.
I am Marko Mäe, EBS freshman of Entrepreneurship and Business Administration and full-time adrenaline junkie. I am a parachutist and belong to the Swedish Parachutists Club, where we represent big organisations like Red Bull and GoPro.
2. What does it mean to be a parachutist?
Jumping of the rocks, jumping out of the planes, we are making promovideos for different festivals and create shapes in the sky. Extremity, bravery, enjoyment and smartly jumping headfirst into the water.
3. What has been your wildest adventure?
During the summer we went to a movie set in Austria for a Swedish warfilm to be stuntmen, where I went while being in the military service in Estonia. What made it exciting was the fact that the job was super quick: we jumped 4 times down from the sky in 2 days and 1 night. The parachute equipment was military, which was not the “coolest” and also not the safest option. What an excitement!
4. How would you describe this feeling that you get when you jump down the sky?
When you jump for the first time you don’t feel anything while being on the ground. When you’re next do the door there is no other option than to jump off. Now after 149 jumps off the plane, jumping is as mundane activity as washing your teeth in the morning. Although this number is just the beginning.
5. What keeps you flying?
Probably exotic and extreme locations – Dubai, the mountains of Norway, LA, Rumenia, Italy, Germany, Spain, Latvia, Sweden.
6. What would be your message to the others?
My motto is: ‘’We will never know our full potential, unless we push ourselves to find it.’’ You need to find the crooky parts in you that make you enjoy life even more!
