  1. Introduce yourself.

Hey there, I am Cornelius from Germany. I am 23 years old and happy to study for one semester at the EBS.

  1. Why did you take part of the Erasmus program, and why did you choose Estonia?

In general, I love to travel around and to get to know other cultures. Since I have lived in California for 9 months, I always wanted to explore other nations and countries. Thereby, Erasmus offers a great opportunity to go abroad, explore and find new friends.

Estonia was chosen out of two reasons. Firstly, because I study International Business with the focus on Scandinavia and the Baltics and it was quite reasonable to go in one of those countries. Secondly, a friend who had studied at EBS from my university recommended to do my Erasmus in Tallinn,

Consequently, I researched and came to a conclusion that it is going be the place where I will do my Erasmus (half) year.

  1. What do you really want to do here in Estonia?

In fact, I wanted to discover the real Estonian Winter, what I did not, but first and foremost I wanted to have a great time – get to know locals, enjoy time, study, travel around, finding new friends and get to know the culture and spirit of Estonians.

  1. Tell us a bit more about your passion for sport.

Well, I love doing sport.

My favorite sport is definitely volleyball – especially beach volleyball.  I have already played beach volleyball at Pirita Beach. Among that I like to do freeletics, crossfit and calisthenics with my sport group back in Germany. Here I go to Reval Fitness. One of my newer sport passions are mud runs, fun runs and OCR´s. I have already participated in a couple of them like Getting Tough and XLetics. Another sportive aim for me in Estonia is to go to Riga and run in the Riga marathon – you should come and join.

  1. What is your worst default? Why?

I hate losing in competitions. It is worse in a single competition than in a team.  I just don’t like it, that’s why it is my worst default.

  1. If you could do one crazy thing, whatever you want, what would it be?

Wing Suit Flying.

  1. Do you have phobias?

As I child I used to be afraid of spiders – I little arachnophobia, but – thank god – I got rid of this and currently I would say that I don’t have any.

  1. If you were to be an animal, which one would you choose to be? Why?

Well, I think it would either be a wolf or an eagle.

A wolf because my friends said so in a chat which dealt with the questions which animal would we pick according to our character. Finally, they chose a wolf.

An eagle because this animal seems to be free, just taking off, flying to some place, see the world from above. Even only the self-flying part would be awesome though.

  1. What is always in your pocket?

No money and my credit card.  Neither anything fancy nor a picture of a girlfriend or family.

  1. A word to live by?

It is more a song than a word – Nickelback: If Today Was Your Last Day

“each day’s a gift and not a given right
Leave no stone unturned, leave your fears behind
And try to take the path less traveled by
That first step you take is the longest stride”
