Markus is steadily becoming a candidate at the EAA (Estonian Academy of Arts), Loreta is researching the market and Gustav’s diligent way of looking at everything will result in the launch of the long-awaited landing page. The skills and ideas that the Rent & Go creators are coming up with are fairly interesting. The young company is growing alongside its young creators and there are still plenty of errors to overcome. We wish the team fast learning, and let’s now see where the efforts made so far have taken them!
Markus: “Hey, here we are – four young people who are not satisfied with average results and wellbeing. Some older and more experienced readers may already be rubbing their hands together thinking that this abnormal thirst for rentals will soon begin to disappear. I assure you that you do not have to worry about this!
And when you ask what motivates us, firstly, we know that we have a (very) good idea, and secondly, you know it too. Lately, I’ve received a lot of touching comments and encouraging words from you – it’s beyond awesome! It is an interesting moment when you have tailored your idea so much and been bringing it to life that people around you will start believing in it and noticing it as well.
Speaking of work – you may call me an artist now. Even a great poet to some extent, but above all, a designer. I have drawn, written, designed and arranged things so much that I will soon have a portfolio together to be able to transition to EAA.
The second semester started and there is a lot to do. So here’s me letting you know – we will write the blog every other week from now on. Why? – priorities. We try to leave more time for ourselves and chit chat less. But enough chit chat, I give the microphone to the others! “
Market research results – ominous or promising?
Loreta: “The publication of the market research on different channels was like a magical point of reference. How to explain it now… It was like the first step. The first real thing. At least that was the feeling I had. But the results, what did they tell us? Firstly, the survey for the parkers – let’s say that the answers met our expectations. Yayyy! The results confirmed that paid parking is used… A lot! What’s even cooler – we learned that the most preferred way to pay for parking is by an app. Super! It supports the solution we are creating 100%. It is likely that the few people who still pay with some other methods will soon start paying through apps as well. I think there is no doubt about that. This is just the most convenient method.
Also briefly about the answers of the parking space owners. Had these results also been expected and hoped for? I would sum it up like this – usually every good thing is accompanied by some negative tones. The same happened with this great offer for parking space owners, that could make their parking space earn easy additional income. Many of the respondents found that there were problems with the idea that did not outweigh the benefits. At first glance, I was a little startled by the results. But as I focused on what the causes were more thoroughly, I realized exactly what the problems were. And in fact, it delighted me. Now you might think that sounds completely confusing as to why I was happy about it.. I’ll explain!
Most people had identified the gate or barrier that could be opened from a remote control as a problem. It was great in the sense that we have a solution to that problem! Gate and barrier opening devices that are compatible with the app and open the gate or barrier without the owner having to do anything at all. Again, one life-changing solution that makes people’s daily lives easier. This has solved the main obstacle with renting parking places.
All I had to do then was put together a proper summary of the results to give the team an idea of what the market situation was like. And once everyone had a clear picture of the situation, we had to act on this information. Obviously, that’s what we did! “
Developments with the landing page
Gustav: “Once again, it is time to share what is new on our landing page. Now that we have the bigger things in place, there is definitely a feeling that the page is cleaner and more user-friendly. We were able to select our own specific colors that we will use to make the page, the images have also been processed and the texts are starting to come together as well. This combination must be logical and comfortable for the user.
We are currently mainly focusing on making the logo. Unfortunately, none of us is an expert in the field of design, but fortunately this does not stop us. As you already know, our most creative person took on this responsibility – Markus began to work with it and presented us with many different drafts that he had quickly invented. The selection was actually quite large and made it a bit difficult to choose. Everyone selected the versions they liked the most, and then we discussed together why we chose them. The decision was not very difficult and we quickly arrived at a consensus with the suitable logo. We immediately tried it on our landing page and it blended in perfectly! There is only one problem with that – it is of very low quality. There are solutions for processing it, but then again, it requires expenses or skills. At least we can say now that we have an original first-draft logo.
We’ve also come up with a slogan, seems like a simple topic, right? We thought we’d get together and think of something very striking right from the top of our heads, but in reality it still took a while. We had done little preliminary work before the meeting, but when it came to presenting options, everyone encountered a slight block. We wanted something that would differentiate us, but at the same time be simple and logical. We picked out a couple of better ones, but we haven’t picked one specific slogan yet, maybe we will have better judgment next time. Regarding the overall look of the landing page, then it is practically ready, we just need to add new pictures of the team members, a proper logo and fiddle with the little things. Hopefully we can share this link with all of you soon in this blog! There is not that much left to do and soon we can start focusing on the most important thing – the app. ”
A little birdie told me that the blog posts are not going to be posted less due to lack of motivation but due to many changes happening in the team. In two weeks – same place, same people, new stories!
