Sleigh bells ring,
are you listening?
In the lane,
snow is glistening.
A beautiful sight,
we’re happy tonight,
walking in a winter wonderland-
Gone away, is the blue bird.
Here to stay, is the new bird.
He sings a love song,
as we go along
walking in a winter wonderland!
The magical starry sky had hidden itself behind the dark grey clouds, the snow had melted and it had started raining instead. Yet, this did not ruin our mood or event that was about to take place.
The entirety of our school was invited to spend some time together at Café Lyon to get things moving for the Christmas season.
Once I made it to the wonderland, everyone else was already seated, you could hear quiet chatter and a lovely background music. I was greeted by Ken, a bright-eyed young man who led me to my table. You could feel the warmth in the air – people were smiling, making jokes and wishing each other well.
In addition to the Christmas decorations, we got to enjoy the delicious meals prepared by the chefs at Café Lyon. Music was provided by Marcus Tuul on his guitar. The atmosphere was very cozy and friendly – a true wonderland!
The star of the night was, undoubtedly, Karl-Alari Varma from Comedy Estonia who shared his crazy and hilarious adventure stories. He made us all cry from laughter which is quite hard to do considering the cold nature of the Estonians.
You know what happened next? Santa’s little helpers had paid us a visit! They had left a jar of colourful candy for every student to help us with our daily problems. It was exactly what we needed!
What’s a party without dancing and music? After the amazing dinner and an entertaining stand-up show, the music got turned up and the real party began. There was dancing, singing and hugging all the way until midnight.
A big thanks to Ken who managed to unite the whole EBS family by organising an unforgettable Christmas dinner with delicious food, lovely music, a hilarious comedian and a sweet surprise. He took us all to a winter wonderland in this cold Estonian climate, filling everyone’s hearts with warmth and love.
