On Wednesday, 9th of March, EBS was turned into a “hospital”. We welcomed North Estonia Medical Centre’s blood centre at our school for the first edition of the EBS Blood Donation Day.

The day went well and it seemed like everyone had a good time and it was great to see that donors were glad to help those in need. At the end of the day, 29 people had offered to donate.
We interviewed Kelly again to look back to this event:
How did you like the event?
As the head organizer, I was very satisfied with the event. Everything went as planned, the team of the blood centre was amazing and in addition, all donors seemed to be happy. Hopefully we can motivate even more people to help and donate. It was a bit disappointing that students did not want to miss a bit of their lectures, because the fifteen minute breaks were not long enough for the entire process of donating. 29 people registered but only 19 of them were able to donate.

Do you think that this event should be repeated?
We will definitely have this kind of event again next semester, probably in November. Next time I want to team up with lecturers and the school’s management, so students will be allowed to miss lectures in order to donate. I also have some ideas to motivate students to get involved.
Is Student Council planning any other charity events?
I haven’t heard anything lately but I hope we will. Organizing this event taught me a lot. I have also heard lots of good feedback about the Donor Day, so it seems like Estonians are actually really interested in charity and want to do good. For me personally it was definitely not the last charity event I organized.
We sincerely thank everyone who took part in this charity event and hope that we will be able to host it again this fall.
